Completed Interview - John Tindall

John originally trained as a physiotherapist. He subsequently qualified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, with ongoing postgraduate studies with Professor Wu Bo Ping. In 1988 he worked for 3 months with Dr Michael Smith at the Lincoln Clinic in the South Bronx (USA), specialising in acupuncture and herbs for substance abuse and HIV. On his return to the UK he pioneered a new approach to healthcare, and has since trained practitioners all over the UK and in many countries throughout the world.

He set up the famous Gateway Clinic in London, and acted as Chairperson for the National Auricular Acupuncture Association for 12 years. In 2000 John set up the Yuan Clinic and Traditional Medicine College where he now works as a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and auricular acupuncture trainer. John is actively engaged in developing and refining treatment strategies in Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, substance misuse and cancer.

He has had a special interest in the practice of Qi Gong, and has trained with masters such as Zhixing Wang and Ai Ping Wang. He has also dedicated much of his time to study with indigenous healers in Bali and South America, practicing ancient shamanic traditions such as the sundance, vision quest and sweat lodge.
